Austria's e-invoicing deadlines
There is no domestic B2B e-invoicing mandate in Austria. Structured invoicing is mandatory only for federal public-procurement contracting authorities.
Receiving
There is no domestic B2B e-invoicing mandate in Austria. Structured invoices to federal contracting authorities (B2G) have been mandatory since 2014, under § 5 of the IKT-Konsolidierungsgesetz.
Issuing
There is no domestic B2B issuing obligation either. The one dated obligation on the horizon is EU-wide. From 1 July 2030, structured e-invoicing becomes the default for intra-EU B2B supplies under the EU’s VAT in the Digital Age package (Directive (EU) 2025/516).
Format
Where a format is required at all (the B2G channel), the federal e-invoicing portals set it. No domestic B2B format is mandated because no domestic B2B mandate exists.
Channel
The B2G channel is the federal contracting authority’s own reception point under § 5 IKT-Konsolidierungsgesetz; there is no domestic B2B channel to name. EUInvoice does not connect to the B2G channel.
What this does not cover
This page does not cover the federal B2G portals in detail, and it does not track whether a domestic B2B mandate is later adopted.
